Twitter tips  (twips)

Can you delete a tweet after you post it?

Of course! You will see a little trash can Icon over on the right side at the bottom. Click on that. A box will come up to ask if you are sure. You can also favorite the tweet by clicking on the star above the trash can.

Check out this excellent Twitter training site with its own affiliate program: Twitter Squeeze

1. If you have a product to sell and you post how to buy it on Twitter you are probably wasting your time and just plain annoying people. Get into the 21st Century marketing. Get people to know and like you then they may buy from you.

2. Don't just say "What I am doing now" Ich. Share ideas and great websites, give value to your tweets. Then people will notice you and thank you.

3. Get into it right away. Don't sit on your hands. Good things come to people who take action.

4. Broadcast and state your opinions. Get into conversations that are meaningful, not just about "how's the weather" type of talk.

5. Tell people about funny things that happened to you or something you saw happen.

6. Remember that only people who follow you can see what you post. It took me some time to realize this.

7. I always follow people who follow me. I think I owe them that respect. People follow you because they like something they see in your Profile. If you post often you will get followers naturally.

8. Make your Profile as interesting as possible.

9. See if you can make a good background for your Profile. If you need help contact me at wahmwed@yahoo.com  I will help.

10. Remember that you can always check the posts of your fave people by going to their Twitter profile page. Keep a list of them handy so you don't have to look for them on the main Twitter board.

11. Add value. Build relationships. Think LONG term. (credit Dr. Mani)

12. To show people who you are talking to type in "@(user's name)  like this "@calgreg" would show that you are talking to me.

13. A good reason to include the "@calgreg" is that your followers can then check out the person you are talking to and possibly grow his/her followers.

14. Limit your daily time on Twitter and any other social networks. I think you can get do what you really need to do in 15 minutes or less. So, if you are frequenting 4 social networks, that would add up to an hour a day.

15. Reminder: Twitter does not work very well as a chat room or forum.

16. Upload a photo of yourself. Your chances of getting followed with no picture is minimal. You can also use pictures of things rather than yourself.

17. Be sure to thank people who follow you on Twitter. You can give them something of value in your thank you note (message) or maybe just show them a link to your website or blog.

18. SPAM  is bad, on or off Twitter. Don't SPAM ever. Period.
