Why
did you join this company?
6
main reasons. First, I recognized the growing popularity of wine in this
country. 2. This is a new company and offered me greater growth
potential than other Direct Sales companies. 3. I do not have to carry
inventory, process payments or do deliveries. 4. I can arrive at the
host's home, make it in the house in one trip and set up in ten minutes
or less. 5. The product is outstanding! 6. Most importantly
it allows me more control over my schedule enabling me to work from home
and be there for my family first.

Your biggest challenges:
Marketing
and Advertising. I am not web savvy and really do not know how to
effectively market my business on line. I also have limited
resources available at this time.
Tell
us about your successes:
Since I began with The Traveling Vineyard I
have won monthly awards for outstanding sales and have been recognized
for my successful recruiting. I have grown a team that
crosses the country and continues to grow. Last year I attended
the trip to Bordeaux and this year I have attained the Dreambuilders
trip to Sonoma. I am currrently a member of the Advisory Board.
I was a guest facilitator at the Annual Convention last year and have
been asked to do so again at this years Convention in Dallas in August.
Do
you advertise your business online? How much do you spend? What
advertising has worked for you?
I
have just looked into advertising on line. I have a website but
that is about it. As I mentioned before this is my biggest
challenge at this time.
Tell
us about any games you use successfully at your home parties:
With
this type of event games are really not necessary. Since it is an
educational event the guests are really focused on learning more about
wine and food pairing. The one thing I have done in the past is
trivia questions, but do not feel it is necessary. Guests are
always quick to tell me how much the enjoyed the event, it was so
much fun and educational.
How
do you balance work and family? I always put my family schedule
on the calendar first! I will then work around that. At home
I try to do my work when the kids are in school or after they are in bed.
How
about some advice for people who are looking into a work at home
business?
First
you must decide what you like to do. I suggest listing all the
jobs you have ever had, going all the way back to high school.
Then rate them on a scale of 1-10 as to how much you enjoyed the work.
You can also look into hobbies you enjoy and do the same thing.
There may be a correlation between the two. This will give you an
idea of what kind of work you would be interested in doing but more
importantly what you would enjoy. You must find
something you can feel passionate about. You must believe in the
product or service for your business to be successful.
