Your Name: Pam Wood
Name of company: Scentsy
Business Description:
Soot & Lead Free Wickless
Candles, Candle Warmers, and Unique Candle Business. With over 80
scents, warmers to fit any decor, car candles, and room sprays our
business has something for everyone.
Why did you join this company?
I've been looking for a candle company for 3-4 years that didn't
fit the traditional candle business. I was introduced to Scentsy in
the Fall of 2006. After trying their products for several months I
joined as a Consultant in February, 2007.
How long have you been in the
work at home business? Off and on for about 15 years,
searching for the right business.
What is the startup
investment?
$99.00 plus tax.
Total is around $113.00.
Your biggest challenges:
I'm basically a shy
person so it's hard to get across the excitement I feel for this
company. But, from my experience, people love the different scents
and warmers we offer.
How much do you spend? It
varies. I've spent most of my available budget on buying products,
which I've sucessfully sold locally. My advertising budget varies,
also.
What advertising has worked
for you? Word of mouth and sending out samples.
How about some advice for
people who are looking into a work at home business?
You truly have to find a product you like and believe in. If you
love what you promote people will see that and react to it. A
lukewarm response to questions turns people away. Do
your "Due-diligence" and find a company that you can get
excited about.
What are your business goals
for 2007 and beyond? To build my business with Scentsy and
to share the benefits of a great alternative to traditional candles.
What are the minimum monthly
or quarterly sales, if any? They like to see a minimum of
$150.00 in sales per month, though they are flexible.
What suggestions do you have
for new business startups? Do your research before signing up with a
company. Make sure it has a good track record and the requirements,
expenses, etc. will fit in with your lifestyle and budget.
